Oxford College of Business, Sri Lanka’s pioneer education provider and leader in private higher education received high honours at the recently concluded National Business Excellence Awards 2016, the prestigious annual awards ceremony organised by the National Chamber of Commerce.Oxford College of Business competed with the most influential Corporates in the country to win two major awards for the Night.

The two awards won by Oxford College of Business included the No. 1 position in the Small Business Sector, where Oxford College of Business won the Gold award. Oxford College of Business also went on to win the Merit Award in the Educational Services Sector. The portfolio of awards went onto reinforce OCB’s standing as one of the nation’s Top Corporates and Business Schools of today.

The National Business Excellence Awards 2016 held at the Grand Ballroom of Hilton Colombo on 30th November, with the attendance of Dr. IndrajitCoomaraswamy, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) as Chief Guest, amongst a host of key Corporate personalities.

The judging criteria of the National Business Excellence Awards is based mainly on the formula used by the European Federation of Quality Management (EFQM), the standard for Europe, as well as some criterion taken from the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Awards of the USA. The National Chamber of Commerce has formulated their National Business Excellence Awards, by combining the standards of both Business Excellence models and coming up with one that is best suited for Sri Lanka’s corporate sector.
