Oxford College of Business and the OCB Alumni together with all its past and present students celebrated Christmas this year by answering to a request by the Parish Priest; of Our Lady of Good Voyage Kalpitiya. We embarked on providing the students of the church 500 books for their catechism classes as a part of their Christmas gift. Given the current climate in Sri Lanka the cost of stationery is something that is now considered a luxury item. Most of the parents of these children 99% we have been told are from families whose livelihood is fishing. They don’t have the means to purchase these books for their children’s education. Our students also donated 20 boxes of used clothes to be distributed to those in need.
Oxford College of Business together with the OCB Alumni would like to thank all its past and present student and its doners who came forward to contribute to this worthy cause. At Oxford College of Business its Alumni activities are attuned to alleviate poverty and hunger in Sri Lanka. The student body works to feed, empower, cloth, and provide basic amenities such as food, water, electricity, housing, and healthcare to the poorest of Sri Lanka.
