OXFORD COLLEGE OF BUSINESS BECOMES SIGNATORY TO THE SDG ACCORD

The Oxford College of Business has announced today that it has become a signatory to the SDG Accord, a global initiative that aims to inspire, celebrate and advance the critical role that education plays in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

By joining the SDG Accord, Oxford College of Business has made a firm commitment to integrating People, Prosperity, Planet, Partnership and Peace into the institution’s strategic planning, operations and research activities. The Accord’s mission is to foster a culture of sustainable development within the education sector and beyond, and to enable educational institutions to become key players in achieving the SDGs.

“We are thrilled to be joining the SDG Accord and to be committing our institution to a central and transformational role in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030,” said Mrs Tracey Mc Peak, Head of Sustainability at Oxford College of Business. “As educators, we have a vital responsibility to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders to take action towards a more sustainable future. By signing the SDG Accord, we are accepting a key role in fighting global injustice and committing ourselves to making a positive impact on the world.”

The SDG Accord, launched in 2017, is a global initiative that seeks to mobilize educational institutions worldwide to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. By becoming signatories to the Accord, institutions commit to taking concrete actions towards achieving the SDGs, such as embedding the goals into their curricula, research and campus operations, engaging with local communities to drive sustainable development and advocating for sustainable policies and practices at local and global levels. “We welcome the Oxford College of Business to the SDG Accord community and are delighted to see them joining the growing number of educational institutions committed to taking action towards a more sustainable future,” said Charlotte Benner, Chief Executive Officer EAUC. “We believe that education is a powerful tool for achieving the SDGs, and we look forward to working with the Oxford College of Business to support and inspire them in their sustainability journey.”
