Oxford College of Business maintains 100% pass rate for ABE (UK)

Oxford College of Business, one of Sri Lanka’s pioneer and leading business schools in the country has received ISO 9001:2008 certification, it has announced.
ISO 9001 is an international standard which shows that an organisation has been independently assessed, and has an effective framework for quality management. ISO 9001 is a very widely recognised standard; being used in over 175 countries worldwide and 1,064,000 organisations.
The Chairman of Oxford College of Business (OCB) said “becoming ISO 9001 certified helped us identify many of our procedures which were outdated or ineffective, it also helped us to update them and therefore become more efficient and productive. Furthermore becoming certified also meant that we needed to have certain mechanisms in place so our procedures and their effectiveness are continually being monitored so that we are able to constantly improving and optimizing them. This is very much a part of the ISO “plan, do, check, act” philosophy, striving for continual development, which we have now inculcated to all our staff, says the Chairman of OCB.”
The Chairman of OCB also goes on to say that “the certification also helped us to outline our quality procedures, which was helpful in a number of ways; it meant that all employees are clear on the companies quality policy, procedure which helps us to service our customers consistently according to international standards. Not only will ISO certification help OCB becoming more efficient and productive, an advantage we also feel that ISO 9001:2008 certification will most likely result in its costs being lowered due to there being less rejected work and waste.”
“The ISO 9001:2008 quality certification recognises that the quality policies, quality practices and quality procedures of our company and ensure consistent quality of service delivery within the organisation,” said the Managing Director of OCB. To become certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant, OCB underwent a thorough evaluation process that included, development of a formal quality procedure, quality policy, maintaining, implementing and delivering a quality service to all our stakeholders consistently. The process took us over 6 months to implement and the audits that were conducted and certificated, were certified by TUV SUD, one of the world’s leading global certification companies.

Especially in the business of education, delivery of quality education is of paramount importance, I am sure that the delivery of quality education will soon became an important feature within in the Sri Lankan education system.
