Oxford College of Business wins Silver at CA Annual Report Awards 2018
Oxford College of Business was once again recognised for best practice corporate reporting at the 54th Annual Report Awards 2018 conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accounts (CA) of Sri Lanka. Oxford College of Business took the silver award under the Small and Medium Sized Entities (SME) category at a glittering event that took place at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo on the 4th of December 2018.
Solid Foundations. Sustainable Future
Oxford College of Business’s 2017/18 annual report, highlighting the theme “Solid Foundations. Sustainable Future”, where the sole aspiration of Oxford College of Business is to empower students to be the best they can be by moulding a generation that looks beyond the bottom-line – a generation that is not motivated by financial performance alone, but is driven to realize holistic success, seeking to enrich lives and care for their surroundings.
Oxford College of Business managed to clinch the silver award by overcoming tough competition from some of the big players in the SME sector across the country. The report fully complies with regulations, providing detailed and transparent information to the its stakeholders about its business performance in 2017/18 and plans for the upcoming years. It describes in detail all the activities of each and every department of the business to showcase the desire of the business school’s management and staff to conquer new horizons.
Focus on our strategic priorities, financial development & enduring regulatory requirements
Accepting the top award on behalf of the Oxford College of Business, the Director/CEO, Mr. Malindu Ranasinghe said, ” It is an honour to be recognised for our all-round leadership in financial disclosure and I give all glory and honor to our savior Jesus Christ alone for this great achievement. The CA Sri Lanka awards reflect effectiveness in communication of financial and non-financial information to stakeholders and strict compliance with legislative requirements and accepted accounting best practices. In evaluating reports for the awards, CA Sri Lanka looks at the organisation’s ability to effectively communicate organisational objectives, highlights, performance, personnel and management to an intended audience.
Held since 1964, the CA Sri Lanka Annual Reports competition is considered a platform which encourages excellence in the presentations of information covering transparency, social accountability and good governance among diverse Sri Lankan business entities in the field of financial reporting.
A model higher education provider
In 2018, Oxford College of Business also became the only educational provider in Sri Lanka to be among the Top 25 best organizations in the “Great Place to Work,” for the 5th consecutive year by Great Place to Work Institute in partnership with The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and LMD winning ‘Laureate Status and also received the Silver Award as Best in the Small Sized Enterprise Category. Oxford College of Business emerged victorious, winning the Silver Award – Service (National Level) in the Small Category at the 2018 CNCI Achiever Industrial Excellence Awards organized by the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries. Furthermore Oxford College of Business also won Silver in both the Small Business Sector and Educational Services Sector at the 2018 National Business Excellence Awards organized by the National Chamber of Commerce.
